Welcome to Camping Sonnenberg! I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Johan Adriaans, 62 years old and born in Eindhoven. Since late August 2025, I have been the proud owner and host of Camping Sonnenberg. I have been living on the beautiful Lüneburger Heide for several months now and I enjoy this special environment every day. What a wonderful region! Together with my team, we do everything we can to provide you with a relaxing and unforgettable stay.

Die Erholungsperle der Südheide Camping Sonnenberg is a cozy family camping site of over 5 hectares, with approximately 100 spacious pitches for tents, caravans and campers.
The name says it all: Sonnenberg, meaning sunny hill. Our campsite is located on a sunny south-facing slope and offers a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding area. Just a two-minute bike ride away is the charming heath village of Müden (Örtze), a place with more than 1,000 years of history and justly known as the Pearl of the Südheide. On the campsite you will find both sheltered pitches under the trees and sunny camping spots. Our camping pitches are certainly spacious, with many pitches being even more spacious. All pitches have their own electricity connection and there are several water points distributed across the grounds. We hope to welcome you personally soon at Camping Sonnenberg and wish you a wonderful vacation in the heart of the Lüneburger Heide!
Camping Sonnenberg is the ideal destination for lovers of peace, nature, walking and cycling. The beautiful Lüneburger Heide offers endless opportunities to discover the surroundings. With hundreds of kilometers of cycling and walking routes, you can choose a new route every day. Some lovely walking trails even run directly past our campsite. Don't use Komoot or another route app? No problem. The Lüneburger Heide covers almost 900 km² and has an excellent tourist organization: Lüneburger Heide GmbH. In the historic water mill of Müden (Örtze) you will find the local tourist information office. The staff know the region better than anyone and are happy to advise you on the most beautiful walking and cycling routes, attractions and excursions.
The nature around Camping Sonnenberg is particularly varied. Expansive heathlands, dense forests, babbling streams and quiet ponds alternate and together form a unique landscape. The animal world is also impressive. During a walk or bike ride, you can encounter, among other things, deer, wild boar, foxes, badgers and many different species of birds of prey (including, for example, the rare red kite and the hen harrier). With a bit of luck, you might even see impressive cranes, which are regularly spotted here. A very special visitor is the European lynx. This rare feline is observed from time to time in the area and even on our campsite. A unique experience that shows how pristine and nature-rich this area is.
Use a spring or autumn holiday as a breather to escape the bustle in the Netherlands and enjoy the beautiful surroundings here or to visit one of the many towns or theme parks.
Celle, Lüneburg, Hannover and Hamburg in particular are highly recommended where, if you prepare yourself a little, you can see a lot of beautiful things.
