Upon arrival, we were allowed to choose our own spot on the campsite, and we picked a lovely location with plenty of shade, as it was going to be very hot. The campsite itself is clean, the facilities are a bit dated, but clean, functional, and definitely worth mentioning – free of charge. Toilet paper is not available in the restrooms, but you receive a free roll at reception, as the owners chose this option because the paper can get damp. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful (Luneburger Heide), perfect for cycling and hiking. We only had Wi-Fi at the reception area, where a sort of tent had been set up so you could sit inside, which was also quite nice. Most guests would check their emails and apps after dinner, which also gave you a chance to connect with other campers. On Monday evening, the owners had their day off, but when we asked for a cup of coffee while we were checking our emails and such, they were more than happy to help. Really a fantastic campsite to recommend if you enjoy hiking and cycling, and of course a day of relaxation in a quiet setting is never a bad thing either. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent!

End of August/beginning of September we stayed at your campsite on a beautiful spot, by the way there are plenty of spacious pitches everywhere. A lovely quiet campsite with sufficient facilities. The sanitary facilities are somewhat dated but clean, so nothing to complain about. The reception was very friendly and the beer and food turned out to be great too! The campsite is located in a beautiful area. Both the nature and the small towns and villages are wonderful. Given the size, it might be advisable to build an additional sanitary facility building. We had wonderful days and even the weather cooperated here. We will certainly recommend your campsite.

We stayed there for ten days at the beginning of September. After some wet spring holidays and weekends, we were due for a warm vacation. And we got one. We enjoyed the weather and the beautiful surroundings.
The Camping itself... I can add little to what previous visitors have said this year. Beautiful location, friendly and helpful people. Good service. Then you overlook the mentioned weak points because you know they've put a lot of energy into it.

Warmly welcomed upon arrival by the campground owners. We were able to choose our own spot. A beautiful campground where true peace and quiet reigns, you only hear the birds chirping it's so quiet there (occasionally Marni had to make some noise with his lawnmower to keep the camping guests awake) (just kidding). If you're looking for peace and quiet and want to make nice cycling or walking trips, this is definitely a recommendation. We stayed there for two and a half weeks and it was wonderful. You can also enjoy a nice meal and a good beer. I think we'll visit again sometime. Mariëlle and Marni, thank you for your hospitality and freedom. You can be proud of what you've built. hello Danielle and Marni. Just back from a two-week vacation at your beautiful and peacefully located campground. We were positioned on the upper meadow with a view of the field where we saw many birds, hares and a little squirrel and a hind with her young crossing the meadow. We enjoyed the hospitality and the wonderful cycling trips and walks made possible by the booklets you kindly lent us about them. We wish you much success with the campground and Bistro where you can enjoy delicious food.

We experienced your hospitality as a warm blanket
We consulted Mariëlle as our go-to person and she always helped us with a generous smile
Mariëlle was even cleaning the toilet facilities on her birthday (the cleaning lady had fallen ill)
Marni was always present on the grounds during the day, always ready for a chat and back in the kitchen at 6 o'clock to provide guests with a delicious meal
In short, a very attentive, friendly and hospitable couple
Nice campsite with spacious pitches, nice cycling and hiking routes
We received nice tips for day trips (Celle and Lüneburg)
If you look at what this couple has accomplished in 8 years, hats off

Stayed at the campground from April 23 to May 1. We enjoyed the hospitality, the space, and the peace and quiet. The facilities are in excellent condition, as is the grounds. The reception/café/restaurant look great and are well maintained under their own management, and the beautiful new covered and open terraces are also well kept. In short, a lovely place to come back to again. Keep up the good work.

Truly a beautiful campsite. Fortunately no marked pitches. Nice free camping.

Very quiet location and yet within cycling distance of beautiful villages.

Beautiful campground with spacious pitches on different terraces.
Friendly and helpful owners. Visited this campground in spring 2019.
The only minor downside is that there is no wifi at the pitches, only at the restaurant. Otherwise, a real recommendation.

For the second time we stayed at the fantastic campsite de Sonnenberg. It was wonderful again. Everything perfect. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful pitches, the nature and the peace of this campsite. In the morning, fresh rolls are on the table in front of the caravan and you can enjoy the sun rays creating a beautiful play of light through the trees. We enjoy the cycling and hiking routes through nature and will certainly return more often.

We are very satisfied with our stay at this campsite. Very welcoming, delicious food, at least good portions. Beautiful location, you can go in all directions. Also offers walking and cycling routes, bike rack rental is very positive. Nothing is too crazy for the owners. Great sense of humor. Spacious pitches. Sanitary facilities could be expanded in terms of quantity when the campsite is full. They are working on it, but investments are not made lightly. Complete understanding. We will definitely come back.
