We spent 2 weeks at this beautiful campsite at the end of August. Plenty of spots in the "terrace area" and a large upper and lower terrain. Fantastic cycling and walking routes. You can borrow the route booklets. The facilities are neat and kept very clean. Highly recommended for people looking for peace and space and wanting to enjoy nature. We will definitely return. This campsite can rightly be described with the German term "Geheimtipp" (hidden gem). 11 days in this second half of June convinced us of that. The sanitary facilities may be considered somewhat dated, but everything was clean and functioning well. Spacious pitches and very helpful owners do the rest. The surroundings offer many opportunities for excursions in addition to the beautiful cycling routes in the booklet that was lent to us.
Heartily recommended!

In August we spent 10 days at this lovely campsite. We were able to choose our own (spacious) pitch and opted for the upper terrace with half sun/half shade, as it was very hot when we arrived. We enjoyed fresh rolls every morning, which Mariëlle brought to our caravan. What a luxury! And Marni's delicious schnitzels were something we wanted to eat every day, truly a recommendation. The surroundings are beautiful and fairly flat. At the campsite you can borrow a booklet with cycling routes. Marni and Mariëlle, thank you again for your warm hospitality!

We enjoyed fresh rolls every morning, which Mariëlle brought to our caravan. What a luxury! And Marni's delicious schnitzels we would have eaten every day, truly highly recommended. A charming campsite with authentic character, excellently designed, maintained, and clearly operated with great dedication by the owners. During our holiday stay, we only encountered friendly faces and tirelessly hardworking hands. Older facilities and amenities have been partially modernized and were always clean during our visit. The pitches are unusually spacious. The distances to neighboring sites are very large throughout the south-facing grounds thanks to natural vegetation. All pitches are almost completely level. We felt very comfortable at this simple yet fine campsite.

We were at the campsite from September 1st to 9th, 2021. We were able to choose a beautiful spot with a nice view from one of the lower terraces. During those days we only heard some distant cannon fire a few times, but that was not disturbing. Otherwise it was absolutely quiet. Plenty of space at the pitches and for those who like it, enough shade as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings, also thanks to the booklets with walking and cycling routes that you can borrow. We were there at the tail end of the heather bloom period (August 9th to September 9th) and that was really worth it. Exploring by bike is best as the heather can get very crowded and the parking areas full. The cycling routes are partly unpaved and sometimes sandy. The elevation changes are manageable.
The sanitary facilities were solid and clean. Showers without coins and you can regulate the temperature yourself. Enough space to put shampoo and washcloths and your clothes stay dry in the cabin. Everything doesn't have a super-luxurious appearance but it works and is pleasant to use. The roads on the campsite are unpaved with gravel, so not really suitable for (children's) bikes.
We had two lovely meals in the restaurant (open Wed, Sat and Sun). The menu is limited, but what there is, is good and affordable. Do make a reservation as there is limited seating. Friday pizza day (takeaway).
With the dog straight into the forest from the campsite - just fantastic.

We had a great stay. Of course the weather also cooperated (dry and about 20 degrees), but the surroundings and the campsite left a very good impression and we would love to come back.

If you're going to Müden to canoe on the Örtze, be prepared for a challenging trip, as nature has determined that in addition to the current and shallow areas, there are also fallen trees in the water and many trees hanging over it. Combined with the current they can easily tip over if you get your paddle tangled in a tree. We managed the 16 km between Müden and Oldendorf reasonably well thanks to the stable canoe we had with us.
In 2022 Müden will celebrate its 1000th anniversary. What that will all entail I don't know but it should be quite nice to plan a holiday in Müden right then.

This year on the way back from Denmark we stayed a couple of days at Sonnenberg, it's always nice how the recognition is there right away even though we've only been here 2 times before. We definitely like coming back here, beautiful campsite in a lovely setting, cycling and walking from the campsite.

Nice people too, even if they are amusingly crazy (THEY are fans of the snollebollekes) but otherwise all GOOD.

A beautiful campsite with spacious pitches.
Excellent facilities, perhaps a bit limited for the number of guests.
But we didn't have any issues with it.
A wonderful walking area; we'd like to come back again.

Stayed at this excellent campsite for 18 days from May 27 to June 14. We had a wonderful time. Guest freedom and helpfulness are highly valued here. Clean facilities with nothing to complain about. Bread roll service is perfect. Cycling was a bit disappointing, partly due to the drought, but as a walking area it's enormous. A real gem. We will definitely be back.

A really nice and wonderfully quiet campsite, unfortunately we only stayed for 2 days due to circumstances and had to cut our vacation short. I want to thank the people who were at the campsite from July 11 to July 12 for their sympathy for what happened, thank you. We will come back for the peace and quiet.

In June we camped again for 3 weeks. It felt like coming home again. Everything was well taken care of and we enjoyed ourselves nicely at "our" spot. We will definitely come back for the 7th or 8th time

Stayed 19 days in August at this very beautiful and especially peaceful campground. The facilities were very clean, friendly owners. Nice large plot for our tent. A real recommendation this campground, and definitely a campground to visit again.
